Where Will Bengaluru Find Shade? Access to Parks and Heat Resilience

Hosted by

HeatWatch Foundation X Bangalore Environment Forum

As Bengaluru warms, parks are becoming increasingly important for providing shade and relief from heat. But how accessible are these spaces to everyone? What happens when parks are closed during the hottest hours of the day, access is restricted, or basic amenities such as drinking water, seating and toilets are missing?

HeatWatch Foundation and Bangalore Environment Forum (BEF) invite you to an interactive conversation on Where Will Bengaluru Find Shade? Access to Parks and Heat Resilience, as part of Bangalore Climate Data Week 2026.

The gathering will bring together people interested in Bengaluru’s parks to reflect on park timings, access and inclusion, and consider whose needs are being met or overlooked. Through short opening reflections, participatory activities and an open conversation, participants will explore where shade and amenities are available or missing, how different people experience parks, and what it would take to make these spaces more accessible and heat-resilient.

The conversation will also explore opportunities for collective action, including shared priorities and practical recommendations for making Bengaluru’s parks more inclusive and accessible.
